A bicycle shelter

For years at Sanford there were bicycles everywhere – tied to trees, in hallways and perched on staircases. We desperately needed somewhere to store our bikes safe from wandering hands and the London rain.

This was the solution: a beautiful structure made from recycled railway sleepers, designed by Christos Choraitis and built by the members. The bike shed doubles as a performance stage and trebles as a sun-trap garden with fruit trees and an excellent view of passing commuter trains!
